Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher conferences are conducted twice a year; once
in early November and again in late April. A comprehensive
written evaluation is completed for the student both in November
and April.
Conferences in November are mandatory for each student and
April conferences are on an optional basis.
School Party Days
Five parties are held throughout the school year – Halloween,
Thanksgiving, December Holiday Party, Valentines Day, and
a Spring Break Party.
There are special hours on party days and all children are
invited to attend each party, regardless of the day the child
usually attends school. Entertainment and "goodie bags" are
highlights of each party!
Show and Tell Day/Parent Share Time
Fridays at Libertyville Montessori School are traditionally
"Show and Tell" days. It is a day when children
are encouraged to bring something from home to share with
their friends. After presentation of show and tell items,
a free playtime follows. This day provides invaluable social
growth for the student.
During the last three months of the school year, Libertyville
Montessori School invites parents to take turns coming in
on a Friday to have a "show and tell" day so that
they may also have an opportunity to share something with
their child’s classmates. LMS invites parents to share an
occupation, memorabilia from a trip, read a favorite book,
share a unique talent, etc., with the children.
This is a marvelous way for parents to experience a connection
with their child's class and also for the children to broaden
their learning spectrum. Parents wishing to participate in
the parent share time will need to call the office to schedule
their Friday "share" visit.
End-of-Year School Picnic
At the close of each school year, a celebratory picnic is
held at a local park. All children, parents, and family members
are invited. Each family brings their own "brown bag" picnic
lunch. Entertainment is provided and a fun time is had by
all!
