The staff at LMS is unique in that we all have deep roots to
the Vernon Hills/Libertyville/Mundelein area. We have a vast
amount of experience between us and have taught together so long
that we have become a close-knit "family"!
Joan Idstein
Joan and her family have lived in the Vernon Hills/Libertyville area for 34 years.
Joan came to LMS when her daughter was 1 year old. She brought with her years
of administrative experience and a love of children. Joan has been with LMS for
the past 27 years in an administrator/teacher/Director capacity.
Millie Franks
Millie and her family have lived in the Libertyville/Mundelein area for the past
37 years. She has taught public school kindergarten through high school and has
been a certified Montessori teacher for 27 years. We have been fortunate to have
Millie as a teacher with us for the last 25 years.
Maria Ambrozek
Maria and her family have lived in Vernon Hills for the last 16 years. Maria
taught for many years in Poland before coming to LMS. Maria initially joined
Libertyville Montessori School as a lunch teacher and substitute classroom teacher
and has now been teaching with us for the last 14 years.
Lorrie Chomko
Lorrie and her family have lived in Vernon Hills for the last 20 years. Lorrie
was introduced to LMS when she enrolled her son (he is now in college). At that
time she worked at LMS as a lunch teacher and substitute teacher when needed.
Lorrie has been a certified Montessori teacher for 12 years and has been currently
teaching with us at LMS for 3 years.
Jillian Idstein
Jillian has the unique experience of literally "growing up" in the
LMS Montessori environment! She spent many summers assisting with summer school.
She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a degree in English and
is a recent Midwest Montessori Teacher Training graduate. Jillian has been teaching
with us at LMS for 2 years.
